E2PM was retained to provide various site plan development and civil engineering services for a Rutgers University 71,770 square foot (1.65 acre) project site in Newark, New Jersey.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (“Rutgers,” or “the University”), was awarded a public-private partnership for the planning, design and construction of an Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC) building at Rutgers University-Newark. Rutgers University-Newark opened a state-of-the-art HLLC facility that houses upwards of 500 undergraduate students, dining, recreational, and academic space in 2022. E2PM was initially retained in 2016 to support the project with necessary engineering tasks that were required during the Initial Planning and Schematic Phase; Land-use and Zoning Phase; Detailed Architectural & Engineering Phase and Construction Phase. Services provided included Site Plan Development; Pre-Design Studies and Data Gathering; Concept Development; Utility Pole Decommission / Removal / Relocation; Existing Conditions Assessment; Asbestos/Lead Building Surveys and Abatement Oversight; City of Newark Approvals and Permitting; Dept. of Community Affairs Approvals and Permitting; Schematic Design; Design Development; Construction Support Services; Planning Board Approvals. Required surveying tasks included Site Boundary and Topographic Survey, Utility surveys, Historical Building Façade surveys, Construction Layout Survey and Vertical Construction Layout Survey.
