Staff Highlight – E2PM’s Daniel Cruz approved as Montclair Township Zoning Board Member, NJ

E2PM is excited to announce the appointment of Daniel Cruz as an alternate member to the Montclair Township Zoning Board of Adjustments to serve a two-year term. This was officially announced on July 30, 2024 at the Montclair Township Council Meeting.

Mr. Cruz joined E2PM in 2023 and he has been a great asset to the engineering, land development and site planning divisions of the firm. As an Engineer In Training, he has been providing valuable assistance on a range of site planning and civil engineering projects throughout the local area. His experience includes assisting Municipal Engineers with completeness review letters and working on Residential plans, Commercial plans, Major Subdivision plats, and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Permits and verifications. He prepared and helped submit several types of applications such as soil movement, zoning, subdivision, and land use resource protection. He has also developed a working knowledge for a wide range of land surveying services including topographic surveys, boundary analysis, and final as-builts. 

When applying to the Montclair Zoning Board of Adjustments, Mr. Cruz shared that land use is an important issue to him and how land is developed in his hometown effects future generations. He applied with the hopes of expressing a competent voice in how these decisions are made, wielding the responsibility of one vote. He is confident in his experience and qualifications to help in this matter for the Township.

Mr. Cruz shared that: 

“Being a Zoning Board member will give me much needed perspective to further my own understanding of what it means to be an engineer. I now have the opportunity to not only serve my community but also observe the work of my peers, the applicants, and other board professionals. I’m a bit nervous about participating in public affairs but the nerves, to me, just means I want to succeed in the position.”~ D. Cruz
