E2 Project Management LLC (E2PM) is a small-business enterprise (SBE) firm based out of Rockaway and Manasquan, NJ offering multi-discipline services in throughout the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania regions.  The firm offers expertise in engineering, environmental compliance, construction management, natural and cultural resource management, land surveying, land development and site planning, linear development (power and utility) and wireless telecommunications services.  E2PM’s fast-paced environmental department is seeking qualified applicants for a Full-Time, Entry-level Environmental Engineer and/or Scientist to work out of the Rockaway NJ office.   This is an entry-level position that offers a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities in the environmental field and creates an excellent opportunity for career advancement working with Senior-Level NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRP) and Environmental Scientists. 

The ideal candidate should have a beginner knowledge in New Jersey site investigation, site remediation, environmental compliance, and due diligence (Phase I Environmental Site Assessments).  This position is needed to provide direct support to the Project Managers of the Environmental Division. 

Typical Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Site work using various types of field equipment to conduct field investigations, soil, groundwater, and air sampling, etc.
  • Calibrating, operating, and maintaining various types of field equipment. Familiar with sampling and field equipment preferred.
  • Collecting, logging and scientifically analyzing soil, air and water samples to determine the level and cause of environmental contamination.
  • Assisting with the development of solutions to control, fix or prevent environmental problems. Conducting environmental research projects and preparing reports and presentations on their findings.
  • General experience and/or knowledge of NJDEP field sampling procedures, technical requirements for site remediation, and the new NJ DEP guidance manuals developed since the advent of the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), LSRP, and Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites (ARRCS) programs
  • Assisting in the development and completion of Work Plans, Health and Safety Plans (HASP), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP), Preliminary Assessments (PA), Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Site and Remedial.
  • Aiding with report preparation [Site Investigations (SI/RI), Remedial Action Work Plans (RAWP), Remedial Action Reports (RAR)].
  • Completing work in accordance with project deadlines and budgets.
  • Communicating with LSRPs, Project Managers, subcontractors, and client representatives when needed.

Requirements (education, licensing, certifications, etc.):

  • 0-3 Years of related experience (primarily in NJ / NY)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Similar
  • Knowledge and beginner experience with NJDEP field sampling procedures, conducting soil and groundwater sampling / site investigations; technical requirements for site remediation (Tech Regs) and NJDEP guidance manuals
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • HAZWOPER OSHA 40-Hour certification required; along with a current 8-hour refresher.
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis. Possess a vehicle and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
